The Rhodes Art Center (Northfield Mount Hermon)

The spectacular Rhodes Arts Center opened its doors to students in September 2008, bringing students and teachers, artists and audiences together, further strengthening the art community and enhancing the educational experience for all.

The faithful service and support given to the school by his father, Edward R. Rhodes ’16, the arts center is named Rhodes Arts Center. William R. Rhodes ’53, is the current chairman emeritus of the NMH Board of Trustees.

As part of the center’s vision, students are encouraged to participate, whether they are beginners or experienced artists, in a program that allows them the freedom to imagine, take creative risks, and be more fully themselves. The faculty — experienced artists who recognize an inherent talent or when a student is holding back — strongly support developing artists, making them feel safe, valued, and inspired to take their dreams to the next level.

The Rhodes Arts Center fully supports the institution’s belief that the arts are integral in educating the head, heart, and hand.
